DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF A TRACKING SYSTEM FOR A PARABOLIC DISH COLLECTOR
English Abstract
The thermal conversion of solar energy by solar concentrators makes it possible to reach high temperatures enough to boil the salted water at pressures near to the atmospheric one. In this B Sc project a parabolic dish concentrator for brackish water desalination have been designed, dimensioned and built. In addition, a microcontroller based, one axis tracking system for the parabolic dish concentrator was developed using three Light dependent resistors for the sun tracking.

التحويل الحراري للطاقة الشمسية عن طريق تركيز الطاقة الشمسية يجعل من الممكن للوصول إلى درجات حرارة عالية بما يكفي لغلي الماء المالح في الضغوط بالقرب من واحد ضغط جوى. في هذا المشروع تم تصميم طبق قطعى مكافىء و مكثف لتحلية المياه المالحة ، وبنى أبعادها. بالإضافة إلى ذلك ، تم التحكم بحركه المحرك الخطى للطبق باستخدام ميكروكونترولر و استخدام ثلاثة من المقاومة المعتغيرة مع ضوء الشمس كحساس و بهذا يكوت نظام تتبع الشمس الأوتوماتيكى .
