Project Title | Improvement of a HD (Humidification Dehumidification) Solar Driven Water Desalination System |
English Abstract |
Major desalination processes consume a large amount of energy derived from oil and natural gas as heat and electricity. Solar desalination is a successful renewable energy source of producing fresh water. Solar Humidification Dehumidification units are interesting solar desalination systems due to overall energy efficiency. The aim of this B Sc project was to design, manufacture and experimentally characterizing such desalination system. The system was successfully built and experimentally tested. The unit is operated by a 6 m2 collector field for real solar operation of the system. |
Arabic Abstract | تم تصنيع غرفة تحلية المياه من الفولاذ المقاوم للصدأ. تتكون وحدة التحلية من مبخرات و مكثفات. يتم تسخين مياه البحر الى درجة الحرارة المطلوبة و تمر بعد ذلك من خلال المبخرات. بعد ذلك يتكثف بخار الماء على المكثفات. كمية الماء المحلاة تصل الى 40 لتر فى اليوم الواحد. |
