EED
2010 and the Concurrently Running Events.
Under the Slogan “Think Global”,
EED 2010
permits the free flow of experience and knowledge throughout the community.
Providing also a wider range of exposure for fresh-grads and engineering
students. At the same time helping them to explore themselves and sharpen their
minds. Aiming at the end to have free minds with the capabilities to innovate. EED
2010 is a good starting point for innovative business ventures and
relationships as it targets to spread entrepreneurship spirit between
engineers. This would be fulfilled through the coexistence of different parties
& delegates of different backgrounds from IEEE, industry, university,
ventures, government, NGO’s, recruiters and media.
Concurrently running will be the 5th “Made In
Egypt” or the MIE Competition Finals Event. MIE
Projects are these standing as a fruitful cooperation among intelligent
undergraduates and experienced industrial mentors to produce a mature prototype
that tackles a real need in the Egyptian industry or introduce a new product in
the Egyptian market.
“Future City” competition will occupy a very important part of EED
2010, where you can find hands-on applications that are designed and developed
by preparatory schools’ students to present their vision for a city of the
future, so let’s see and encourage tomorrow’s engineers.
The IEEE Women In Engineering Affinity Group or the WIE AG
in Egypt will have its Second forum “Social Engineering; For you &
your family” aims to raise awareness towards importance of Engineering
in social development, to come up with innovative ideas for institutes,
academia and individuals, to enhance our society through technology and to
highlight the achievements done so far in Egypt in the field of improving
society through science and technology.
“FIRST LEGO League“, FLL,
is a global program created to get children excited about science and
technology. A hands-on program for ages 9 to 16, FLL uses challenges based on
real world scientific problems to engage children in research, problem solving,
and engineering. The cornerstone of the program is its Core Values, which
emphasize friendly sportsmanship, learning, and community involvement.
